Bird Abatement Program

Available to both our commercial and residential customers, ABC Pest offers a Bird Abatement/Exclusion program. We have many different products for all sizes and types of bird pressure. All birds from small sparrows to vultures and gulls are covered. With ABC, there are three different types of programs that can be used: Landing/Roosting Deterrent, Audio/Visual Deterrent, and Trapping. The amount of bird pressure to be removed and the type of bird determine which of the three programs are used.

Landing/Roosting deterrents make the landing ledge or area unavailable to birds. These deterrents consist of many different types: Bird Spike (poly & metal), Flex Track, Bird Coil, Bird Slide, and Bird Wire. Netting is another landing/roosting deterrent typically used under awnings, drive-thru areas, parking garages, walkways, etc. where people want to remove roosting birds from above. Netting requires attaching netting material to the structure making it impossible for the birds to gain access to the roosting areas. This type of abatement is called Total Exclusion. Audio/Visual deterrents are typically used in areas that cannot be "closed off." This is called Open Space control. With audio/visual control, an electronic predator sound is produced through a sound system. These systems include a main unit with 2- 4 satellite speakers. Along with audio deterrents you must have a visual deterrent as well. The "motion" along with sound gives very good results for areas such as parking lots, courtyards, loading docks, etc.

Trapping is used in areas where all the above options are not viable. ABC can successfully reduce the population through controlled trappings. We use large repeating traps to drastically reduce the population as fast as possible in the shortest amount of time.

With bird control, no two pressure problems are alike. They are all different and require different measures for relief.
